Mum's final-7 3,Nov,07

It's mum's final-7... the 49th day since she left.

We had arranged two chanting ceremonies:

4pm to 5:30pm: Buddish chanting by a monk, the Zhi Di Fa Shi from a temple in Jalan Ipoh.

6pm onward: Tao chanting by one of the 'si-fu' who went to Nilai Memorial Park with us during mum's funeral.

Some family members came to join the ceremony including 'ta jiu', 'er jiu and er jiu mu', 'san jiu mu', 'san ee', aunty Yew Hx, and aunty Yew Jx, Jia Sx, Ah Bin, Joshx and Jerx.

Actually, a few of mum's colleaque and friends visited us and prayed during their lunch time... they brought some vegetarian food for the prayer.

As for the Buddhist and Tao prayer, each of us brought some mum's favourite food... all in vegetarian. The photos were taken shortly after the Buddhist chanting at 5:45pm.

Close up on the fruits and food... notice the green mango and 'mata-kucing' at the far end... they were grown by 'ta jiu'. According to 'ta jiu', mum saw the fruit trees in 'ta jiu's house during her very last visit, and reminded 'ta jiu' to spare her some 'mata-kucing' when the fruits are ripe... so here they are. The food (not very clear) are bitter cord (at the far end), brocoli, fried noodles, bean curd... not very clear from the compressed photo.

The following are some 'pau' as replacement for 'fatt gau'... quite difficult to get fresh 'fatt gau' in the afternoon. I think the white kuih are from Tampin, probably bought by aunty Yew Hua. They moved the 'pau' to the kitchen before i took the previous photos.

The food for the Tao chanting and prayer... notice that the colour of the label with mum's name and date of birth and decease had been changed into red.

The close up on the food. I think the 'salty tea' is from OUG... probably brought by 'er jiu' or aunty Yew Jx. Pizza is from aunty Yew Jx... some 'vegetarian fish', kuih and pau... don't really know who brought them.

The ceremony last till 7pm... and the final event was to burn... err... 'gold paper'... i guess that's the right phrase...
