New born

It was 5:30am in the morning, my usual wake-up time of a normal working day. SB informed me that the baby may be coming soon as she felt a little bit of tummy 'upset'... we went straight to get ourselves ready... and to inform Van to take care of the two boys who were still deep in sleep.
That's SB and baby, still swimming in the tummy, waiting to arrive... ready to go to hospital.
We went for breakfast in Taman Desa before going to the hospital. It was 6:30am and all, except one, coffee shops and hawker centres were still closed. We were lucky to find one 'early bird' coffee shop. SB had the precious breakfast before the month-long 'all ginger and wine' meal.
We arrived at the hospital at about 7am. After a few checking and testing, the nurse on duty confirmed that the baby was ready to come... and immediately transferred her to the labour ward.
8:30am... in the actual labour ward, waiting impatiently for baby's arrival... bored...

At 9am... the nurse laid her on the 'specially modified' bed with fixture and gadget to help the arrival of baby. Sensors were mounted to monitor baby heart-beat and level of contraction (that's the level of pain, in layman term). Mama and papa were still waiting for the arrival...

10:00am... nothing happened excepted that the pain was becoming greater... and more frequent.

11:48am... wah... wah... wah... welcome little baby girl...
The 1-minute old baby girl... HEY... no peeping huh...

The nurse was taking measurement of the tiny girl... first, the head circumfrance...
Next... the height...

Finally, the weight... mmm... let's see... 2.25kg equals to... err... less than 5pound.
In the past few months, SB had been told by the doctor that the baby is small during each of her routine pregnancy check-up. Guess how tiny is the baby girl... a record-breaking (among our family members) 2.25kg, that's less than 5pound. In fact, despite of her tiny size, she is pre-matured by merely 20 days... which is normal.
Next... let us see how to make a 'Human-bolster' from a 5-minute old... step-1...

Human-bolster in the making... step-2...

Finally, the 'Human-bolster' is completed...

At 12:53pm... mama was reporting the news to grand-mum while waiting to be transferred to the general ward. Meanwhile, the tiny 'Human-bolster' had been transferred to the nursery.

Let's see... do I look like... mama? papa? big koko? small koko?... no conclusion yet... what do you think?

After two-night stay in Taman Desa Hospital, mama and baby checked out today (6/3/08) at about 12:50pm. Papa and Big-Koko (Ah Zhen) fetch them home using Ah Ma's car.

Mama and baby can't wait to see all the family members and friends...
Oh... papa has forgotten to give the baby a name... oh... okay... okay... the nurse said that papa has 14 days to make decision... meanwhile, the baby is known as 'baby'.
Lastly, and most importantly, the baby would like to thank Grand Aunty, Grand mum, 'Ah Kim' for your help during these days... your love and care are appreciated!
