Road to KL-Marathon 2010, 34 days to go

Date: 15th May 2010, Sunday.

Weather: Cloudy.

Route: 35.8km (4xTaman Desa 7.72km + 1x4.91km)

4 x Taman Desa 7.72km route:

1 x Taman Desa 4.91km route:

Start time: 4:20am.
Timing: 4hrs 32mins 24s.  Finished at 9am... slightly late for work...:P
I failed to wake up at 3:15am... but rather, 3:45am. Quickly rushed to get myself ready for the big day. Managed to start the run at 4:20am. As usual, security guards with strange look were staring at me, wondering if I was a human being or 'some type of energy' floating in the air.

Fuel:
Pre-run: 325ml 100plus, 1 large box of KFC mashed potatoes... cheaper than Power Bar, and taste much better.
During run: 1.5 liter of Gatorade, 1.75 liter plain water.  No power gel... no power gel... no cheating!
Post-run: 1 liter plain water.
(sorry kidney...)

Pit-stops:
Km-7.7: 15s for swapping of empty bottle with filled bottle;
Km-15.4: 4-minute for isotonic-bottle refilling, plain water intake;
Km-23.1: 4-minute for isotonic-bottle refilling, plain water intake.
Km-30: 2-minute for bottle swapping.

Saw Red!
Had an injury at the most un-imaginable place, the bleeding belly button!  I can't believe when I saw my bleeding belly button while taking off my shirt.  Kids were curious in seeting that, and started asking question about why do we have belly button.  For my case, not really that I ran until the stomach puncture... don't think that anyone can have a puncture by running too much... but rather too much rubbing between my big lazy tummy and the string of my pant.  What an experience!

Cramp Devil
Cramp Devil attacked the right calf from km-28 onwards.  Last LSD, the Cramp Devil attacked my left calf... and this time, it thought that my right calf deserved the same torture too.  I am glad that it finally attacked my right calf... as I knew that my right calf would learn from the experience and, hopefully, grow stronger and wiser when the big day comes.

The reward after the tough 35k-ier... 3 pieces of Chinese meat dumpling.  Yummy... and the tummy was asking for more!
